Capital Project Updates

  • Capital Project Continues to Move Forward 2/13/17

    Plans for an addition and renovations to New Paltz Middle School have been given the green light by New York State, and work is planned to start in May on what will be the largest phase of the $52.9 million Capital Project.

    District administrators, Board of Education members, and representatives of the architectural and construction management firms working on the Capital Project provided an update on its progress to the community on January 26. READ MORE

  • Project Update 12/21/16

    Members of the Board of Education and several District administrators joined representatives from the District’s architectural firm, Tetra Tech, and construction management firm, the Palombo Group, on December 14 to officially break ground on the High School's new addition. While significant infrastructure updates have already been completed (roofs at Duzine, the Middle School, and the High School were all replaced this summer, and replacement of the septic at the Transportation Center and folding partition walls at Lenape are complete), this phase of the project marks the beginning of work that directly provides students with increased learning opportunities.   • Resolution Regarding the Immigration Status of Students

    The New Paltz Board of Education and Superintendent Rice firmly believe it is their duty to uphold laws that guarantee that all children are entitled to attend public schools. They are committed to ensuring that the New Paltz Central School District remains a safe haven, where all of its students have access to the education they are legally entitled to receive. The Board of Education has passed a resolution that reinforces this commitment. READ MORE

  • New Paltz High School Launches On-Campus Mental Health Clinic

    The New Paltz Central School District (NPCSD) has launched a new effort to help its high school students thrive in both school and life by providing them with more access to mental health services.

    Starting this month, a therapist from Astor Counseling Center will be located at New Paltz High School (NPHS) three days a week from 8 AM to 6 PM, providing counseling for students during the school day and for both students and their families after school. The services are available through a contract with Astor Services for Children & Families. READ MORE

  • BOE Announces time change for Facilities Committee Meeting and Announces Special Meeting of the Board of Education 
    The Facilities Committee Meeting scheduled for April 26, 2017 in the DO Conference Room will take place from 6:00-6:30 PM. There will be a Special Meeting of the Board of Education on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:30-7:30 PM in the District Office Conference Room for the purpose of discussing the Capital Project add alternates.
